Yes, it’s cheating. It’s also the answer.
A Mac app that listens to your video interview. Hold right ⌥ while they ask, let go, and the answer appears under your notch.
They ask So, what is Hintglass?
Three keys. That’s the whole app.
Never blank on a question again. One key while they ask, and the words are under your notch before the silence gets awkward.
Hold right ⌥
Hold it while they finish the question, then let go. A few-word cue lands first, so you start talking at once, then a short answer to say in your own voice.
Solves the coding question
Press ⌥⌘C on a coding question. Hintglass reads the window in front of you and writes the approach and the code in a panel at the top right, where only you can see it.
Looks it up
Asked about the company, or a fact you never learned? ⌥⌘F searches the web for their exact words and answers in one sentence, with the source named underneath.
They ask. You answer.
Three classic questions, answered the way Hintglass answers yours: from your own resume and the exact words they use.
They ask
“How would you rate-limit a public API?”
Token bucket per key, enforced at the edge
Each key gets a bucket that refills at its plan’s rate, checked before the request reaches the app. Over the limit it returns 429 with Retry-After.
They ask
“Tell me about a time you pushed back on a deadline.”
Payments migration: cut scope, kept the date
On my last team I led the card-payments migration. Two weeks out, refunds were still double-counted, so I shipped read-only first and moved writes a sprint later. The launch date held.
They ask · ⌥⌘F
“What do you know about us?”
Acme sells invoicing software to small firms in 30 countries.

Pick two files, your resume and the job posting, and Hintglass builds your profile from them. Every story comes from your own resume, so it holds up when the follow-up digs deeper.
Your audio never leaves the Mac.

Questions
Isn’t this cheating?
Yes. Next question. Interviews reward whoever memorised the most answers, and now that’s you.
Will they see it when I share my screen?
No. Hintglass is invisible on screen share and in screenshots. They see your screen, never your answers.
Does any audio leave my Mac?
No. Both sides of the call are transcribed on your Mac. When you ask, the conversation’s transcript so far, from both sides, and your profile go to your AI provider; ⌥⌘C adds a screenshot of the window in front of you, and ⌥⌘F sends the interviewer’s words to the search service you chose. On Anthropic, Ollama Cloud and Ollama on your Mac, Hintglass also sends a warm-up in the background, even if you never ask: your profile, and on Ollama the conversation’s transcript so far, within a session’s first minute and then once or twice a minute, so the next answer starts faster.
Which AI providers work?
Tested on Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI, Gemini, OpenRouter and Ollama Cloud. Built to support them all. You bring your own key and pay the provider for what you use.
